Singapore-based boutique search agency Kepler Search has been recognised by W.Media, Asia’s largest data centre and cloud industry publisher, for its excellence in navigating the highly challenging talent markets of Northeast Asia, particularly Japan and Korea. The firm was awarded the prestigious Talent Acquisition and Management Team Award at a recent gala event, triumphing over some of the industry’s biggest names.

The recognition highlights Kepler Search’s remarkable success in sourcing top-tier talent for data centres, with a particular emphasis on Japan. Known for its ageing population, conservative work culture, and limited English proficiency, Japan is widely regarded as one of the most difficult markets for international firms seeking to recruit highly skilled data centre professionals. However, despite these challenges, Japan’s burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) sector has created a surge in demand for specialised talent, making recruitment in the country even more competitive.

Kepler Search has carved out a niche in this tough market, earning the trust of leading investors from the United States, China, and Australia who have turned to the firm to help fill critical roles for their AI-focused ventures.

“It’s an honour to be recognised for our work in data centre recruitment, particularly in such a complex market like Japan,” said Rhys Morgan, the head of Kepler Search’s Data Centre practice. “Our team has worked tirelessly to develop local expertise and build strong relationships with our partners. We’re proud to play a role in supporting the growth of this crucial sector by connecting companies with the talent they need to succeed.”

The company’s success is rooted in its highly localised and relationship-driven approach to executive search. Kepler Search focuses on building a significant presence in key markets and fostering deep connections with industry contacts across North America, Asia-Pacific (APAC), and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This strategy has enabled the firm to tap into otherwise hidden talent pools and gain a deep understanding of the cultural and regulatory nuances that shape hiring practices in the region.

Katie Tu, Managing Director of Kepler Search, expressed her excitement about the award, saying: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive the W.Media Award, which reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional recruitment solutions. This achievement is a testament to the outstanding efforts of Rhys Morgan, Principal Consultant Nomulun Tungalag, and our entire Data Centre team, whose hard work has made this success possible.”

Kepler Search’s recognition comes at a time when the demand for data centre talent, particularly in Japan, continues to rise in line with the country’s expanding AI sector. The firm’s tailored approach and deep local expertise have made it a go-to partner for international companies looking to navigate Japan’s challenging recruitment landscape.

With this award, Kepler Search has further solidified its reputation as a leader in data centre recruitment across Northeast Asia, offering a blueprint for other firms looking to overcome the complexities of the region’s talent markets. The firm’s ability to blend global expertise with local insight is proving to be a key factor in its success, making it well-placed to continue its growth and expand its influence across the region.
